Mt. Kilimanjaro Charity Climb Team Fundraising Website



8 days of hiking. 19,334 feet elevation. No showers. No toilets.
5-8 hour trekking days. 

= 10 girls get to go to school in 2011.


When: July 31, 2011 - August 14, 2011

Why?:  The funds raised from this endurance sport challenge will directly educate up to 10 female Africa girls in Zambia in 2011. Out of the world's 130 million out-of-school youth, 70% are girls.
The team members are raising funds and awareness in their local communities by participating in the climb.

How: The climb up Mount Kilimanjaro will take the team 8 days to reach the Uhuru Peak at 19,340'. Mount Kilimajaro is the highest mountain in Africa reaching 19,334' at it's summit. The team will begin in the Kilimanjaro National Park and climb approximately 6,000 feet daily walking 5-8 hours a day. The team will follow the Machame Route up the mountain which has been described by mountaineers as the most picturesque however one of the hardest!
